Safety Orientation

Full Course (6 hrs or 8 hrs - depending on the content required by the employer)

Some of the orientation training needs to be done by the employer, usually by a senior manager. This would include a welcome and company specific information; in particular Human Resource related information.

Safety related orientation could include a variety of topics depending on the needs of the workplace.

Some of the subjects available are:

  • General machine safety.
  • WHMIS.
  • Rights and responsibilities, legislation.
  • Plant specific safety rules.
  • Illness and injury reporting.
  • Emergency procedures.
  • Housekeeping - Introduction to 5S.
  • Fork lift pedestrian safety.

Typical orientation course coverage:

  • WHMIS (4 hrs)
  • General machine safety (1 hr)
  • F/L pedestrian Safety (1/2 hr)
  • Company Safety Rules (1/2 hr)
