Safety Orientation
Full Course (6 hrs or 8 hrs - depending on the content required by the employer)
Some of the orientation training needs to be done by the employer, usually by a senior manager. This would include a welcome and company specific information; in particular Human Resource related information.
Safety related orientation could include a variety of topics depending on the needs of the workplace.
Some of the subjects available are:
- General machine safety.
- WHMIS.
- Rights and responsibilities, legislation.
- Plant specific safety rules.
- Illness and injury reporting.
- Emergency procedures.
- Housekeeping - Introduction to 5S.
- Fork lift pedestrian safety.
Typical orientation course coverage:
- WHMIS (4 hrs)
- General machine safety (1 hr)
- F/L pedestrian Safety (1/2 hr)
- Company Safety Rules (1/2 hr)
